Wood Group Integrated Plant Solutions, part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of John Wood Group PLC, has been awarded a long term gas turbine maintenance contract in Brazil by Termonorte Energia Ltda, a company owned by a consortium comprised of investors, including US and Brazilian companies. The $2.9 million per year contract is scheduled to begin immediately, with the work spread over its 12 year duration.
"We are delighted to have won this long term maintenance contract which represents our continued focus on bringing flexible, value-added term solutions to the gas turbine industry," said Mitch Robinson, President of WG IPS. "This contract follows our successful implementation of a significantly growing number of similar long-term packaged maintenance contracts in other regions of the world. Wood Group will continue to work with value-conscious customers to provide these types of services."
The contract involves the provision of packaged maintenance services, covering component repair, spare parts supply and onsite services, for three General Electric Frame 7EA gas turbines operated at a power station in the town of Porto Velho in the Brazilian state of Rondônia.
