Foster Wheeler Awarded Wastewater Treatment Plant Design Contract in Saudi Arabia
Foster Wheeler's Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a process design contract by SETE Energy Saudia for Industrial Projects Ltd. (SETE Energy) for the expansion of an industrial wastewater treatment plant in Saudi Arabia.
The plant is owned by Power & Water Utility Company for Jubail & Yanbu (MARAFIQ). MARAFIQ is the authority responsible for providing power generation, water supply and treatment utilities for the industrial complexes of Jubail and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia. SETE Energy, the water treatment utilities developer and part of the Latsis Group, is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for this project.
Foster Wheeler will undertake the process design and provide technical assistance during pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up phases. After the expansion, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2011, the plant will be able to treat 55,000 cubic meters a day of wastewater.
"Once again the collaboration of SETE Energy and Foster Wheeler has proved successful in the Kingdom and we look forward to continuing the relationship that we have built to date," said George Antonopoulos, chief executive officer, SETE Energy.
