Cord WorleyParsons Awarded Construction Services Contract for Suncor Energy Services

WorleyParsons Suncor Energy has awarded a C$74.4 million lump sum contract for construction services to Cord WorleyParsons Ltd, the construction division of WorleyParsons Canada Ltd.

The scope of work is for the Firebag 3 well pads and gathering lines associated with this steam assisted gravity drainage facility near Fort McMurray, Alberta. The contract is scheduled for final construction completion in the fourth quarter of 2010.

This new contract is the final stage of the Firebag 3 well pads and gathering lines project which WorleyParsons commenced as an EPCM contract in 2006. At this time engineering is complete and Cord is fabricating the associated modules under a separate contract.

Commenting on the award, Mr John Grill, CEO of WorleyParsons, remarked that &wuot;this new contract underscores the confidence Suncor has in our construction capabilities in Alberta through Cord WorleyParsons and is a positive indicator of confidence returning to the oil sands energy sector".
