Contractors Resume Work on BP's Clair Platform
BP's Clair Platform Contractors involved in an unofficial stoppage earlier this week have returned to work. More than 150 men employed by Amec and Rigblast on hook-up and commissioning work had downed tools after a promise of guaranteed overtime pay was withdrawn.
They resumed work after discussions with company management. However, an Amec spokeswoman said that the overtime issue was still being discussed with the 116 employees involved. Rigblast said it had 40 people on the platform as sub-contractors for Amec.
