Wood Group Engineering Wins BP Contract in North Sea
Wood Group Engineering (North Sea) has been reappointed as one of BP's two main engineering, modifications and maintenance providers to its assets in the North Sea arena.
The Wood Group contract is worth up to £135m over three years and involves the provision of EMM services to half of BP's UK North Sea assets located East and West of Shetland, Central North Sea and the Sullom Voe Terminal. This follows BP's announcement of intent in June 2004 which now has partner approval. Initially awarded for three years, the contract has three two-year extension options. It will secure employment for around 500 Wood Group employees.
The new award follows Wood Group Engineering (North Sea)'s successful performance on a previous BP contract to provide these services for Schiehallion, Magnus, Andrew, ETAP, Everest and Lomond. The contract has been extended to include Sullom Voe and, in due course, the Bruce platform.
