Tektonisk Wins 2nd Major AMEC Contract
Tektonisk (UK) Ltd - the supplier data management company - has secured a second major contract from AMEC, for a major North Sea project being executed and managed in Aberdeen. The contract will provide supply chain gathering, validation and handover services for the project, which is due to run until the end of 2006. AMEC's scope of work includes the control and management of the supply chain for delivery of all the platform's equipment and materials. By utilizing Tektonisk's ShareCat system, accurate delivery of supplier data is guaranteed. ShareCat provides a web-based communication environment where project personnel and suppliers can share the equipment information they need. The services include a quality assurance process, which provides high quality standard equipment information on behalf of the suppliers, removing the difficulties usually found in the multi-layered sub-supply chains used by the industry. Angus Murray, AMEC's Project Information Manager stated "It is very important for AMEC to be innovative in its use of technology to drive efficiency and lower costs.
