Statoil to Award Vetco Aibel Contract for Huldra Modifications

The end of Huldra's producing life is to be extended from 2006 to 2011 - photo courtesy of StatoilVetco logoStatoil has announced their intention to award Vetco Aibel a contract for the modifications onboard the Huldra platform for its tail production. Work starts immediately, and shall be completed October 2006.

Scope of work includes engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of a compressor module and a temporary living quarter (LQ) onboard the Huldra platform in the North Sea.

The compressor module will be installed to maintain an export pressure of 115 bar, thereby extending the tail production until 2010. The module will have a total installed weight of 600 T. Including the LQ it will be 900 T. The Huldra platform is a so-called "normally not manned platform" with limited capacity for accommodation. Subsequently there will be a focus on lifting on board a maximum-complete module to reduce offshore work to a minimum.
