Vetco Awarded Hydro Contract to Modify Njord Platform
Hydro has awarded Vetco Aibel a contract for the modification of the Njord platform, on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, in preparation for gas export. The value of the contract is NOK 185.
The contract's scope of work is engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of a 200 ton gas dehydrator and inlet scrubber unit, and a 90 ton TEG Regeneration Unit, fiscal systems and export gas control valves. Along with that, 150 ton Integration piping and modifications including pig launcher.
Work starts immediately and shall be completed in August 2007. The Njord platform will start to export gas through the Åsgard Transportation System from October 2007.
The platform has until now reinjected the gas to the reservoir. As a result of the project, the platform will be modified to handle gas for export.
The field comprises a semisubmersible production platform, Njord A, and a turret-moored storage vessel, Njord B.
