Pfizer Award New Biotech Pharmaceutical Facility Project to Jacobs

Jacobs Engineering Group have been selected to develop a concept and preliminary design for a new biotech pharmaceutical facility for Pfizer, Inc., at Pfizer's Strangnas Manufacturing Center in Sweden.

The new facility enables Pfizer to ensure manufacturing capacity for existing biotech-derived pharmaceutical products. Jacobs is designing the manufacturing facility in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Pfizer quality standards, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines Agency licensing requirements for bulk API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) production. Jacobs is executing the work from their office in Reading, England. Pfizer currently ranks as the world's largest manufacturer of pharmaceuticals and is committed to improving the quality of life for millions of people on a global basis.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Phil Stassi stated, "We are excited to become part of Pfizer's biotech initiative.
