AMEC Awarded £100m Long-term Asset Support Contracts

AMEC logoAMEC has been awarded long-term asset support contracts by leading chemical companies Innovene and Huntsman Petrochemicals. The total value of these contracts is over £100 million.

Innovene has awarded AMEC a five year management contract to undertake all cycle-ending plant overhauls at its Grangemouth facility in Scotland. Work begins immediately and involves planning, preparation, supply chain management and project implementation of the overhauls across the entire complex. The award follows the safe and successful completion of several major overhauls for Innovene over the last three years.

On Teesside, AMEC has been awarded a four-year contract by Huntsman Chemicals to undertake overhauls of its Aromatics, Ethylene, Polyurethane and Paraxylene plants. AMEC will plan, prepare, manage the supply chain and manage the implementation. Over the last five years AMEC has carried out several successful overhauls for the company.

"Plant overhauls in the chemical industry are undertaken regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation of the asset," said Steve Lee, Managing Director of AMEC's industrial business. "They demand the very best planning and project management skills, including meticulous care with health and safety, and we are delighted that two world-class organisations have entrusted AMEC with these vital support operations."
