Eos JV Awarded FEED Contract for Pluto LNG Project

KBR LogoThe Eos joint venture (50 percent WorleyParsons and 50 percent KBR) has been awarded the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the Pluto liquefied natural gas (LNG) project's offshore production facility by Woodside Energy Ltd. The scope of work for Eos includes the design of the platform and system engineering for the offshore facility.

The Pluto Field, in water depths of between 984 feet (300 meters) and 3,280 feet (1,000 meters), is located in the Carnarvon Basin, some 124 miles (200 kilometers) from the Burrup Peninsula in Australia. From the subsea wells, dual risers will be routed up the Continental Shelf slope to a fixed platform on the Continental Shelf adjacent to the field. A 118-mile (190-kilometer) subsea trunk line will also be laid from the topside facility to the onshore LNG plant.

The FEED contract began in Perth, Australia, last month. Woodside has the option to expand the scope of work to include engineering, procurement management services and construction management assistance for the facility.

A final investment decision by Woodside for the Pluto LNG Project is expected by mid-2007.

Eos is also currently completing the detailed engineering phase for Woodside's Angel platform.
