SNC-Lavalin Awarded Study Contract for Nitrogen Injection / Nitrogen Rejection and Carbon Dioxide Injection Project in Abu Dhabi

SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract by GASCO (Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd.), a subsidiary of ADNOC, for front-end-engineering and pre-front-end-engineering (FEED and pre-FEED) studies for a Nitrogen Injection (NGI), in addition to a Nitrogen Breakthrough and Nitrogen Rejection (NBNR) and Carbon dioxide Recovery and Injection (CRI) project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The contract has an estimated value of over $10 million.
The studies will cover three areas: the FEED work will cover high pressure nitrogen injection, high pressure CO2 injection for enhanced oil recovery into oil/rich condensate gas reservoirs for reservoir pressure maintenance. The NBNR pre-FEED work will cover nitrogen breakthrough and its impact on the existing Habshan gas plants, and identify the cost-effective nitrogen rejection facilities.
"These studies are a key project for SNC-Lavalin, as they address greenhouse gas issues, as well as sustainability approaches in the UAE, and in the oil and gas industry in general," said Jean Beaudoin, Executive Vice-President SNC-Lavalin. "GASCO has made considerable strides to address these issues, and we are pleased to be working with such an important client in this area in Abu Dhabi."
SNC-Lavalin is one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world and a major player in the ownership of infrastructure, and in the provision of operations and maintenance services.
