Wood Group to Provide Ready-for-start-up Operations Support Services for Chevron's Wheatstone LNG Plant in Australia

Wood Group has been selected by Chevron Global Upstream and Gas to provide ready-for-start-up operations support services for the Wheatstone Project LNG plant on the northwest coast of Australia. Work will be performed by ODL, Wood Group's consultancy company specializing in operations & maintenance.
ODL's consultancy services will include LNG plant operations, maintenance and instrumentation/electrical systems consulting services. The scope of work includes providing operations & maintenance technical expertise to aid Chevron in developing the front-end engineering design and project execution planning; reviewing piping & instrument diagrams and process-related drawings to aid in resolving potential conflicts; and participating in hazardous operations (hazops) studies and other process safety management reviews.

The Wheatstone LNG facility will be located on the northwest coast of Australia. It will have an initial capacity of at least one 5 million-ton-per-annum LNG production train, with expansion capacity for additional production trains. The facility will also provide commercial domestic gas to the local market.
