First Generating Company of the Wholesale Power Market (OGK-1) is a major wholesale heat generating company that was established as a result of reforming the Russian power sector; its installed capacity is 9531 MW. All generating assets of the company are located in the regions of Russia with an energy deficit and a high level of energy consumption – the integrated power system of the Urals and the Central region. OGK-1 includes: Perm GRES, Verkhnetagilsk GRES, Kashira GRES, Nizhnevartovsk GRES, Urengoy GRES, Iriklinsk GRES.
In 2006, the OGK-1 share in the first pricing zone of the electric energy wholesale market was 6.5%. By 2012 the company plans to implement an investment program to construct generating facilities with the capacity of over 3,000 MW in the regions of Russia that suffer from energy shortages. The majority of the projects will be implemented in the Urals region.
From July 1, 2008 43% of Company share belong to Federal Grid Company, 23% - to RusHydro, and 34% - to minority shareholders. Ordinary registered shares of JSC OGK-1 are traded at the RTS Exchange, under PGKA code at the classic market, and OGKAG code at the exchange market, and also at MICEX under OGK1 code.
