Sicily's ESPI Disposes of 50% of Siciliana Gas S.p.A. to Eni25/01/2006
Sicily's industrial development agency ESPI (Ente Siciliano per la Promozione Industriale, in liquidation) and Eni S.p.A. sign deal for sale of 50% of Siciliana Gas S.p.A. to Eni for a price of 98 million Euros. Siciliana Gas S.p.A. distributes natural gas in Sicily.


Apache Acquires Pioneer's Operations in Argentina26/01/2006
Apache Corporation to expand its Argentina presence through negotiated acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources' oil and gas operations in that country. Total purchase price for assets is $675 million, a significant portion of which is made up of non-operated properties subject to preferential rights to purchase by existing owners.


AMEC NNC Acquires Romanian Nuclear Company30/01/2006
AMEC NNC, subsidiary company of AMEC Nuclear Holdings Ltd, acquires 50.2 per cent of Romanian nuclear company Stevenson & Associates SRL (S&A Ro). The company has 10 employees and was established in Bucharest in 1993.

Positive market conditions in western region of USA enable Aker Kvaerner Metals to open new office in Tucson, Arizona, transitioning from its former location in Houston, Texas. Aker Kvaerner Metals, Inc. recently awarded contract from Phelps Dodge to complete detailed engineering for Morenci Concentrate Leach Project located a short distance from Tucson.

BP to Fund Indian Biofuel Production Study08/02/2006
BP to fund $9.4 million project by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to demonstrate the feasibility of producing biodiesel from Jatropha Curcas, a non-edible oil bearing crop. TERI responsible for day to day management and execution of the project.


EnCana Recommends Rejection of Mini-tender Offer09/02/2006
EnCana Corporation receives copy of unsolicited mini-tender offer made by TRC Capital Corporation (TRC Capital), pursuant to which TRC Capital has offered to purchase up to 2,000,000, or approximately 0.25 percent, of the outstanding common shares of EnCana. EnCana has recommended that its shareholders reject this unsolicited offer.

Aker Kvaerner Sells Subsidiary to Finnish Wärtsilä10/02/2006
Aker Kvaerner sells Stord based subsidiary Aker Kvaerner Power and Automation Systems (AKPAS) to Finnish corporation Wãrtsilä for NOK 110 million. AKPAS supplies power and automation systems to the marine, oil and gas market and segments of the industrial market. The two year old company has 135 employees.


Aker Kvaerner to Sell Pulping and Power Businesses to Metso10/02/2006
Aker Kvaerner signs letter of intent to sell their pulping and power businesses to Metso. The transaction will allow the Pulping and Power businesses to continue to grow under a new ownership, and Aker Kvaerner will free up financial and human resources to concentrate efforts on other core areas. The transaction value is estimated to be approximately NOK 3 billion, subject to closing adjustments.


ScottishPower Decision to Opt Longannet Power Station into LCPD10/02/2006

Repsol YPF to Open Office in Moscow14/02/2006
Repsol YPF to open office in Moscow to attend the company's growing activities in Russia with a view to boosting new projects and seizing opportunities offered by the Russian oil industry more speedily and efficiently. The new office will be located in the centre of Moscow, and will be attended by personnel of different nationalities, including Spaniards and Russians.


Two Injured on Bravo Platform in Centrica's Rough Field16/02/2006
Bravo North Sea gas platform evacuated following fire. Two people taken to hospital, one with burns and one with shock. Fire put out by staff on board. Twenty-five staff remain on platform, with remaining 31 being taken ashore by boat or helicopter.

Talisman Negotiate for Fulmar and Auk Fields in North Sea22/02/2006
Talisman Energy Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Talisman Energy (UK) Limited, reaches agreement to enter into exclusive negotiations with Shell U.K. Limited and Esso Exploration and Production UK Limited to acquire their combined 85.8% interest in the Fulmar field (Blocks 30/11b and 30/16s) and 100% interest in the Auk field (Blocks 30/16n and 30/16t) in the Central North Sea.


UK Governement's Projections for Energy and Carbon Emissions23/02/2006
Consultation published which will set out Government's projections for energy and carbon emissions for the UK. They will form baseline for new Climate Change Programme and will also be used as part of the Government's ongoing Energy Review. Final projections will be used to inform allocations for the next phase of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (2008 -2012).


Nexen Approves Development of Ettrick Field23/02/2006
Nexen Inc. approves plan to develop Ettrick field located on Blocks 20/2a and 20/3a in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea subject to approval by the co-venturers and the UK government. Plan includes drilling three production wells tied back to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel.


Hydro Opens New Supplier Centre in Arkhangelsk23/02/2006
Norway's consul general in Northwest Russia, Rune Aasheim, opened Hydro's second supplier centre in Russia on Tuesday. Hydro's supplier development program in Russia was established by Halvorsen more than three years ago, after a top meeting between Russia's President Vladmir Putin and Norway's former Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik in autumn 2002.

Deal includes research, development, qualification and implementation of technology in fluid systems, drilling, reservoir evaluation, completion and production. Development of software in reservoir disciplines also part of agreement.


Petrofac Invests in UK North Sea Interests23/02/2006
Petrofac today completed acquisition of 40 per cent. interest in part of Block 211/18a in UK North Sea containing a significant part of the undeveloped West Don field. Petrofac Resources acquired the interest alongside FirstOil and Valiant Petroleum, each with a 30 per cent. interest, from BP and ConocoPhillips.


Eni Announces Sale of Snamprogetti to Saipem27/02/2006
Eni announces sale of 100% of Snamprogetti to Saipem (43% owned by Eni) for a total consideration of €680 million. The transaction, approved by Eni's Board of Directors, is expected to close by the end of March 2006.


Construction Work Begins at Glendoe Hydro-Electric Scheme27/02/2006
Prime Minister, Tony Blair and Scotland's First Minister, Jack McConnell, today visited Loch Ness to mark the start of construction work at Scottish and Southern Energy's (SSE) £140m Glendoe hydro-electric scheme near Fort Augustus. With an installed capacity of around 100MW, Glendoe will be Scotland's first conventional large-scale hydro-electric power station for 50 years.
