Marathon Oil Corporation Announces Sale of Irish Subsidiary
Marathon Oil Corporation enters into a definitive agreement with Star Energy Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), under which Star Energy Group will purchase Marathon's wholly owned subsidiary, Marathon Oil Ireland Limited for $180 million, excluding any purchase price adjustments at closing.

StatoilHydro Awarded Operatorship on the Faroes
StatoilHydro awarded operatorship of large exploration area in the third Faroese Licensing Round. StatoilHydro has a 50% stake in the licence. Partners are DONG (30%), Faroe Petroleum (10%) and Atlantic Petroleum (10%). The area covers 5312 square kilometres, the largest licence ever to be awarded in Faroese waters.

Total Awarded Three UK North Sea Exploration Licences
Total awarded three exploration licences in the 25th Oil and Gas Licensing Round of the UK's Department of Energy and Climate Change. In the West of Shetlands area, Total and its partners in the Laggan and Tormore gas condensate discoveries, awarded part of adjacent Block 205/4. Further north, Total will have a 56% interest in the exploration licence formed by Blocks 214/17, 214/21b and 214/22.

Venture Resume Production at Kittiwake Platform
Venture Production today announced that the Kittiwake Platform returned to full operations on Thursday 20 November. The platform had been running on a restricted basis whilst repairs were carried to part of the oil processing system that had been isolated following the sighting of an oil sheen on 6 November.

The UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) today confirmed that the programme to secure a new Parent Body Organisation (PBO) for the Sellafield Site Licence Company (SLC), Sellafield Ltd, has been completed. The shares in Sellafield Ltd, previously owned by British Nuclear Fuels Ltd, have today transferred to the new PBO, Nuclear Management Partners Ltd (NMP). NMP is the consortium comprising AMEC, AREVA, and URS Washington Division.

Small Additional Gas Discovery in the Norwegian Sea
StatoilHydro makes small additional gas discovery during drilling of an exploration well north-west of Sandnessjøen in mid-Norway. As operator of production licence 218 StatoilHydro is currently concluding the drilling of exploration well 6707/10-2 A. The well has been drilled south-east of the Luva gas discovery, 280 kilometres north-west of Sandnessjøen.

StatoilHydro and Chesapeake Energy Sign Strategic Exploration Agreement
StatoilHydro and Chesapeake Energy Corporation announce signature of strategic agreement to jointly explore unconventional gas opportunities worldwide. Under these agreements StatoilHydro will initially acquire a 32.5% interest in Chesapeake's Marcellus shale gas acreage covering 1.8 million net acres (7,300 square kilometres) in the Appalachia region of the northeastern USA.

Venture Production Shuts Down Kittiwake Platform
Venture Production announces that following the sighting of an oil sheen near the Kittiwake Platform on Thursday 6 November, an investigation into the possible sources of the sheen is being undertaken. Although the source of the sheen remains unconfirmed, as a precautionary measure the Kittiwake facilities have been shut down since the afternoon of 6 November and will remain so until the source of the sheen has been identified.
