Aker Solutions Takes First Dive into the Tupi Pre-salt Layer
Aker Solutions awarded contract with Petrobras to supply the first set of subsea trees, including control systems and related equipment for the Tupi field development in the Brazilian pre-salt layer. The agreement is worth approximately EUR 45 million. Complete scope of work will be managed, designed and engineered by Aker Solutions' manufacturing facility in Curitiba, Brazil, with support from Aberdeen, UK, for the subsea control systems.

Subsea 7 Awarded Services Agreement by Taqa Bratani
Subsea 7 awarded 1 year IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance) services agreement by TAQA Bratani Limited (part of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, PJSCPSJA) for provision of project management, engineering, dive support and remote intervention services to assist with TAQA's newly acquired Northern North Sea assets. A Subsea 7 project team, based in the company's new Aberdeen office, will manage work scopes under the frame agreement, the first of which commenced last week.

Foster Wheeler-Built "First-of-a Kind" Methyl Methacrylate Plant Starts Production Ahead of Schedule
Foster Wheeler Ltd announced today that the methyl methacrylate (MMA) plant, designed and built for Lucite International Singapore Pte. Ltd. by UK and Singapore subsidiaries in its Global Engineering and Construction Group, started production ahead of schedule. Foster Wheeler's Teesside, UK, operation currently working on front-end engineering design for Lucite International's planned 250,000 tonnes per year Alpha 2 plant.

Technip Awarded Flexible Pipelines Installation Contract in India
Technip awarded installation contract worth approximately 140 million, by AKER Installation Floating Production, for phase 2 of development of the MA D6 oil field. Technip's operating centres in Paris, France, and Aberdeen, Scotland, will execute this contract with support from the Group's centre in Chennai, India.

Scottish Government Gives Go Ahead for Hydro Schemes
Two new hydro schemes capable of powering over 3,500 homes have been approved by the Government. The 3.5 Megawatt Black Rock scheme, near Evanton in Ross-shire, will supply electricity for over 2,000 homes. The 2.5 Megawatt scheme on Allt Coire Chaorach, near Crianlarich, will power over 1,500 homes.

AMEC Appointed to BP Clair Ridge Project Under New BP
Global Agreement
AMEC appointed by BP to begin conceptual engineering studies to test the potential for further development of the Clair oil and gas field in the North Sea. Work will continue until the end of 2009. Project will be executed under AMEC's recently signed global agreement with BP for offshore engineering and project management services.

Petrofac Wins Brownfield Consultancy Contract in Abu Dhabi
Petrofac awarded engineering consultancy contract by Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Operations (ADCO) for de-bottlenecking services for the onshore North East Bab field, located approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Abu Dhabi. This is the first contract secured by Petrofac with ADCO, which is a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).

Jacobs Engineering Group receives contract from Syngenta to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for new fungicide manufacturing plant to be built at Grangemouth, Scotland. J P Kenny appointed to manage the design, procurement and construction of a Wave Hub renewable energy project off the coast of South West England. The South West Regional Development Agency (RDA) selected J P Kenny, part of John Wood Group PLC, as its engineering and management contractor for the project.
