Motiva Announces Progress on Refinery Expansion Project04/05/2006
Motiva Enterprises LLC makes significant progress toward expanding refining capacity in the United States. The company has completed initial project scoping and process design for the potential expansion. Results indicate that a 325,000-barrel-per-day crude throughput increase at the Motiva Port Arthur Refinery in Texas would be the best, most logical choice.

Technip awarded turnkey contract by Diester Industrie for new biodiesel (*) unit, based on the Axens process, to be built in Montoir-de-Bretagne, near Saint Nazaire, France. The background of this project is the program set up by the French authorities for the development of biofuels, intended to reduce transportation-related air pollution and the dependence on imported energy.


Turkey's Council of Ministers Approves Construction of Samsun-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline05/05/2006
Turkey's Council of Ministers approve licence for construction of Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline to be jointly built by Çalik Enerji and Eni. Çalik and Eni have been studying the project since 2003, and in 2005 both companies elected to combine their efforts, resources and expertise to fulfil the venture.


Aker Kvaerner Delivers Environmental Technology to Statoil08/05/2006
Aker Kvaerner signs contract with Statoil for design and delivery of the world's largest system for capturing and recovering crude oil vapours. The new system will treat all vapours emitted from ship loading of crude oil at the oil company's Mongstad terminal at the Norwegian West coast. The plant will be in operation by end of 2007 / beginning of 2008.

Contract covers management of the development and will be executed by a team integrated with the client.

Chevron Invests in Large-Scale Texas Biodiesel Facility15/05/2006
Chevron Corporation invested through subsidiary in a Texas-based company building one of the first large-scale biodiesel plants in the United States. The facility will have potential to produce 100 million gallons per year of clean-burning renewable fuel – an amount that would more than double current production volume of biodiesel in the United States.

Babcock & Wilcox Awarded Environmental Equipment Contract18/05/2006
McDermott International's subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox ("B&W"), awarded contract to supply and construct wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) systems at Detroit Edison's Monroe Power Plant in Monroe, Michigan. B&W will design and install the sulfur dioxide (SO2)-reducing equipment, also known as scrubbers, on the plant's Units 3 and 4, which are each 825 megawatt pulverized coal-fired boilers originally supplied by B&W in 1973.


Chevron Approves Expanded Deepwater Pipeline for Tahiti18/05/2006
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. approves construction of 55-mile deepwater crude oil pipeline that will connect Chevron-operated Tahiti project to existing Amberjack pipeline in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. Chevron also approved expanding pipeline from 20-inch to 24-inch diameter design that can handle 300,000 barrels of oil per day and accommodate additional discoveries in Walker Ridge and Green Canyon areas.


SNC-Lavalin and Saipem Awarded Contract for LNG Terminal18/05/2006
SNC-CENMC G.P., a partnership between SNC-Lavalin Inc. and CENMC Canada Inc., an affiliate of Saipem SpA, awarded contract by Canaport LNG Limited Partnership to design and build Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import and re-gasification terminal in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.


Statoil Award Kårstø Contract to M W Kellogg22/05/2006
Statoil award M W Kellogg engineering contract for upgrading and possible development of gas treatment plant at Kårstø, north of Stavanger. The award was made on behalf of the operator Gassco. The contract is for preliminary engineering and has a value of around NOK 130 million, including options. It also contains an option for detail engineering.


Canadian Natural Resources Limited Contract Awarded to Jacobs24/05/2006
Jacobs Engineering Group receives contract to provide conceptual study for Canadian Natural Resources Limited's grassroots upgrader to be located in northern Alberta, Canada. The upgrader will process bitumen produced via thermal in situ methods from up to four of Canadian Natural's oil sands leases near Cold Lake and Fort McMurray, Alberta. Jacobs will investigate various upgrader technology options and process configurations to produce a synthetic crude oil blend.


Major Drilling Equipment Contract to Aker Kvaerner24/05/2006
Aker Kvaerner signs contract with Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd in Singapore for delivery of drilling system for ultra deepwater drilling semi-submersible platform. Aker Kvaerner MH in Kristiansand's scope of work is to deliver a complete drilling package consisting of engineering, drilling equipment deliveries and subsea equipment.


Liner Hanger Contracts Awarded by Statoil29/05/2006
Statoil awards contracts to Baker Tools and Weatherford Norge covering delivery of equipment and services connected with liner hanging during drilling operations. The Baker contract will cover most of Tampen area, as well as a smaller part of the Halten/Nordland and Troll/Sleipner areas. The Weatherford contract will cover most of Halten/Nordland and Troll/Sleipner areas and smaller operations at Tampen.


PetroChina Contract Win for Shaw Stone & Webster29/05/2006
Shaw Stone & Webster awarded two contracts to provide technology, engineering and procurement services to PetroChina for its Dushanzi Petrochemical Company's new petrochemical complex in the Xinjiang Province, China. The contracts, which have a combined value of approximately $50 million, cover technology, basic engineering, procurement of key equipment and materials, technical training, and commissioning and start-up services.


Expro Awarded Contracts Valued at £46 million31/05/2006
Expro International Group awarded contracts totalling £46 million across both its Global and Regional Businesses. The total of these awards has helped Expro achieve record levels of order backlog, which now stands at £419 million across the Group. Conversion of the backlog to revenue varies from contract to contract, with some phased out over 3-5 years improving the visibility of future revenue streams.


ICA Fluor Signs Contract with PEMEX for Offshore Platforms31/05/2006
ICA Fluor and Empresas ICA Sociedad Controladora, sign contract for fabrication of two sleek and lightweight offshore platforms (named May D and Sinan NE) to be installed in the Gulf of Mexico. The $24-million contract was awarded by PEMEX Exploration and Production to the ICA Fluor subsidiary Industria del Hierro.


Saudi Aramco Sign Jubail Accord with Total31/05/2006
Saudi Aramco and Total sign comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding related to planned development of a 400,000 barrel per day world-class, full-conversion refinery in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The proposed refinery will be designed to process Arabian Heavy crude and will produce high–quality refined products that meet current and future product specifications.


ConocoPhillips Signs Yanbu' Refinery Pact with Saudi Aramco31/05/2006
Saudi Aramco and ConocoPhillips Wednesday sign comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding to conduct detailed evaluation for proposed development of 400,000 barrel-per-day, full-conversion refinery in Yanbu', Saudi Arabia. The refinery would be designed to process Arabian heavy crude and produce high-quality, ultra-low sulfur refined products that meet current and future U.S. and European product specifications.


Foster Wheeler Awarded Contract by Saras for New Refinery Units01/06/2006
Foster Wheeler Ltd's Milan-based Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. awarded engineering and procurement contract by Saras S.p.A. for new process units at Sarroch refinery in Sardinia, Italy. Contract also includes an option, which Saras may elect to exercise at a later date, for provision of construction supervision services by Foster Wheeler. Sarroch refinery is one of Europe's largest and most advanced refining complexes.


Jacobs Awarded Suncor Contract at Oil Sands Facility01/06/2006
Jacobs Engineering Group Canadian subsidiary company receives contract to provide direct hire construction services at Suncor's oil sands facility in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. Project consists of planning phase, followed by fabrication and installation of required tie-ins and interconnecting piping. A total of 650 tie-in points and associated interconnecting piping is required to connect existing Plant 52 into new Millennium Coker Unit facility.


Abbot Group Contract Win for Songa Drilling02/06/2006
Abbot Group confirms recent announcement made by Songa Drilling A.S. that Pemex, the National Oil Company of Mexico, awarded jack-up rig, Songa Jupiter, drilling contract which will commence during summer 2006 with initial duration of two years. Songa has been pursuing contract during Abbot Group's recent negotiations to acquire Songa Drilling.


Saudi Aramco Awards Halliburton Multimillion-Dollar Contract to Develop Khurais Mega Project07/06/2006
Halliburton awarded oilfield services component of the largest oil development project in the Arabian Gulf Region since the 1950s - the Saudi Aramco Khurais mega project. This three-year contract includes a full range of Halliburton's integrated services and technologies. In order to produce 1.2 million barrels of oil per day (MMB/d) for several years, the project will utilize up to 23 rigs to support the drilling and completion of more than 300 wells.


Gas Pipeline Project Planned Between Bolivia and Paraguay12/06/2006
Paraguay's public works ministry receives five proposals for US$300mn natural gas pipeline connecting Bolivia with Paraguay, the ministry announced in a statement. A consortium of local company Electrogas, Tradimex and Germany's Thyssen Krupp and Siemens proposed pipeline from Bolivia's Tarija department to Paraguay's Chaco region to Concepción department's Vallemí district.


Foster Wheeler Awarded Contract for Refinery Revamp13/06/2006
Foster Wheeler Ltd's Milan-based Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A., part of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, received AB Mazeikiu Nafta's Letter of Award and Notice to Proceed on 3 March 2006, and subsequently signed the formal contract on 8 May 2006, for the revamp of Mazeikiai refinery in the Republic of Lithuania. The contract will be handled by Foster Wheeler's engineering centres in Milan, Istanbul and the newly established Moscow operation.


Babcock & Wilcox to Supply TXU with Supercritical Boilers and Environmental Equipment14/06/2006
McDermott International, Inc. subsidiary, The Babcock & Wilcox Company ("B&W"), signs memorandum of understanding ("MOU") to supply eight identical supercritical coal-fired boilers and selective catalytic reduction ("SCR") systems as part of TXU's solid-fuel power generation program in Texas. Design of the boilers is currently underway at B&W's headquarters in Barberton.


Foster Wheeler Awarded CFB Contract by Bechtel14/06/2006
Foster Wheeler Ltd's Foster Wheeler North America Corp. awarded contract by Bechtel Power Corporation for design and supply of two circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boilers. Contract calls for Foster Wheeler to supply two 315 megawatt CFB boilers for a new solid-fuel power plant that Bechtel Power is designing and constructing for TXU's Sandow Power Station in Texas.

Mott MacDonald Appointed Owner's Engineer of Sudan P.S.14/06/2006
Mott MacDonald appointed owner's engineer by National Electricity Corporation (NEC) of Sudan for development of Khartoum North Phase III, a 2 x 100 MW extension to the existing power station facilities. The $175 million project, located in the north suburbs of Khartoum, is being developed to provide additional power to the Khartoum region of Sudan as part of an overall plan to install an additional 5000 MW to the Sudanese national grid.

Foster Wheeler North America Corp., an operating unit of Foster Wheeler's Global Power Group, awarded contract for a pulverized-coal (PC) boiler by Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District. The contract, valued in excess of $65 million, calls for Foster Wheeler to design and supply a 400 megawatt (MWe) PC boiler for the Springerville Generating Station in Arizona. The unit will be owned by SRP and operated by Tucson Electric.


Fluor Wins Engineering Contract for Canadian Mega-Project19/06/2006
Fluor selected to provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for $2 billion expansion project for Husky Energy Inc. Fluor's FEED work is necessary for Husky to proceed with plans to double the capacity of its heavy oil upgrader - located in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Canada. Work will be led by Fluor's office in Calgary and is expected to be completed in 2007, at which time Husky will proceed with project approvals and, then, construction.

Bids invited from Shaw Stone & Webster and a Technip/Chiyoda joint-venture for design, engineering, procurement and construction (DEPC) work for the proposed steam cracker.

Foster Wheeler Wins Contract for Design of Delayed Coker28/06/2006
Foster Wheeler Ltd's subsidiary, Foster Wheeler USA Corporation, awarded contract for new eight-drum delayed coking unit to be installed as part of the Jamnagar Export Refinery Project at the Reliance Petroleum Limited (RPL) refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat State, India. Foster Wheeler's scope includes process and detailed engineering for the new coker, which is expected to commence operations in 2008. Foster Wheeler also designed Reliance's first refinery's existing eight-drum coker, which is the world's largest operating coker and started up in 1998.


AMEC and UKAEA Target South Korean Nuclear Market28/06/2006

J. Ray McDermott Awarded Qatargas Contract29/06/2006
A subsidiary of J. Ray McDermott, S.A. ("J. Ray") awarded contract by Qatargas Operating Company Limited ("Qatargas") to provide engineering, procurement and installation services for the Common Condensate SPM Facilities Project, offshore Qatar. The facilities, once completed, will allow the export of condensate from Ras Laffan through two SPM CALM loading buoys, approximately 54 kilometers offshore, via a 42" diameter pipeline.


J P Kenny Wins Two Contracts as New Office Opens in Norway29/06/2006
J P Kenny Norge AS, subsidiary of John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Grou"), awarded two separate contracts by Talisman Energy Norge AS (Talisman), a subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc, and DONG E & P to perform FEED studies for their developments projects in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Together the contracts, valued in excess of $1million, will provide work for the company's new team of 20 experienced engineers in Norway, J P Kenny Norge AS, established in January 2006.


Aker Kvaerner Win Contract for Power Boiler Island30/06/2006
Aker Kvaerner awarded contract for supply of power boiler island to KFx Inc. which is developing its coal beneficiation facility at their Buckskin plant in Wyoming, USA. Kvaerner Power will supply the coal-fired power boiler to KFx's Buckskin plant.
